A log cottage the way it should be
The ground floor centres on the traditional living room, with a large oak table, bench seating, a fireplace, a daybed and a smart TV. It connects to a fully equipped kitchen with a ceramic hob, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, toaster and everything you need for cooking. The bathroom with a shower, toilet and washing machine is off the entry hall.
Wooden stairs with hand-cut treads lead up to two attic bedrooms. Each bedroom has four beds with new mattresses, bedding and a built-in wardrobe. A baby cot is also available. The daybed in the living room can be used as one extra sleeping place.
The fenced garden has a pool, a covered pergola with seating, a gas grill and a fire pit. Children have a climbing frame with a slide, a nest swing, two more swings and a trampoline. Parking is available on the property or right next to it, with plenty of space.

A house that remembers
Local carpenters built the cottage from pine over a hundred years ago, the way houses were always built in the foothills of Bohemian Paradise: log walls, white-limed joints, massive beams and a hipped roof to keep the north wind out.
The doorways between the rooms are still their original height, so taller guests learn to duck. And past the gate it takes only a few steps before Trosky Castle appears on the horizon.
Bohemian Paradise on your doorstep
It is a short walk to the Náš Chléb bakery for your morning bread, and since both trains and buses stop in Kněžnice, you can get here without a car at all. From the cottage, hiking trails and cycle paths lead on to the Prachov Rocks and to storybook Jičín.
